Welcome to Shillelagh No. 1 National School

Shillelagh No 1 National School is a small rural Primary School under the patronage of the Church of Ireland Bishop of Cashel and Ossory, welcoming children of all faiths and non. The school is committed to fostering and maintaining an atmosphere where children grow through their encounters with others, through their own endeavours and through collaboration with their peers and teachers.

The school is located in a schoolhouse with two hundred years of history, overlooking the spacious play areas and friendly village of Shillelagh.   Nestled in the quiet south-west Wicklow hills, the children are educated in a fully government-approved curriculum from Junior & Senior Infants, through to 6th class.
